I was wondering when this service was gonna start. Anyways, not on Sunday, but I'll probably fan it during the week.

Probably Metro North it to New Haven, take Amtrak from there to Hartford... yea I know the line goes all the way to Springfield, MA but going on a day trip to MA seems a bit much.

Probably take the new service back to New Haven and Metro North to New Rochelle to the Bee line to the NY Subway back home, after doing NYC - Philly on NJT/Septa I find long commuter rail trips to be tedious, the seats become physically uncomfortable after a while, might take Peter Pan or Hound back to NYC instead.

Website claims all the Amtrak trains will have loos, and that they are working on retrofitting their rolling stock...

Of course anyone from the Philly area is immune to such a thing.

websites do not necessarily share opinion of federal inspectors. first two cab cars with handicap toilets will not be ready for several months and then two more cars get send out , the coaches do not have bathrooms

Working out the logistics with MNRR & CtRail, I'll be there Sunday, leaving Saturday open for the BMT event.
Although scheduling is tight, I'll go Sunday as it will be a free rides day. I'll only go as far as Hartford, having been to Springfield recently. I won't take Amtrak.
While there will eventually be one restroom per 4-car set, there are restrooms at the 4 major stations.

Yes, I rode a Hound from Philly to NYC over the winter and was comfortable the entire time, 2 hour ride. 2 hour ride on commuter rail cars is physically uncomfortable for me.

Rode Peter Pan from DC to NYC a few years ago which is about a 4 hour ride and was comfortable the whole time.
