Verrrry interesting.

I recall the last major form of transportation that depended on hydrogen. It was called the Hindenburg.

High time.

Should be a cheaper way to store energy than batteries, though maybe slightly more voluminous.

Make hydrogen really cheap right at the base of a wind turbine - then you don't have to worry that the turbine's power output fluctuates.

Different dependence.

Hydrogen is nowhere near as dangerous as gasoline, but we've had gasoline powered cars for well over 100 years.

Rehashing the old "train of the future" as the train of the future?

We've heard of the Coradia iLint on here several times already (e.g. here and here). Bad enough that the diesel version is named after stuff that comes out of your clothes dryer.
