Is the Bedford shell the width of Fulton St only, like the one at Utica/Fulton, Steve?

That would be about right but that still left enough clearance to cross between the uptown and downtown sides approximately at Bedford.

Are you talking about Fulton St or the G Line. In either case it sounds from your description that the Bedford Sv subway was only supposed to be 2 track and not 4 like Utica.

I’ve been through it many times and I seem to recall that when it was open it was only part time and at night it was closed.

Here's a video of the closed passageway starting at the west (subway north) end of the express platform as far as the crossover and a short distance beyond it.

I should have mentioned the video starts (and ends) at the west end of the Manhattan bound platform.
