These data are essentially for 6 to 9 a.m. An F train that leaves Stillwell at 6 a.m. will make it to 179th in time to head back to Stillwell, thus being counted in the statistics both ways. But a train that leaves Stillwell at 8 a.m. won't. |

As you can see, I was thinking of the F, not the shuttle.For the shuttle, I don't think my argument applies. There might be a difference of a train or two, but a difference of six trains is hard to explain. |

Maybe I should add this caveat to every AWOL report.The dispatchers are not assigning a train to a trip. I declare a trip AWOL, if it appears on the real time schedule but a train is never assigned to it. The real time schedule is published about 30 minutes before the scheduled departure. To get a better handle on what's happening, also look at the Late Start Report. That looks at trips that left the terminal whether assigned a train or not. |
