I've seen these twice on the 1 (opposite direction, perhaps same trainset) in the last week or so, also curious.Nice spruce up, but I wonder when/if the 1 line will see a non-R62 car running through it in regular service. The line has been solidly R62/R62A for 30+ years now, though it seems fair as a fair share of the numbered lines got Redbirds all those years ago. Damn autofill bringing up an old topic title. :) |

The train was the "Standee Special", the one with the missing seats. Don't recall the car numbers. The lights were bright, because the they were really white in color rendition. The fluorescent tubes the TA normally uses emits a warmer light. Maybe they used the cars on the shuttle as a test and are relamping others. Bill Newkirk |
