Snowstorm service suspensions and delays

From the Times as of 7:09 pm:

• Subways: Expect delays on 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, F and L trains. Express service is expected to be reduced as the snow picks up.

• New Jersey Transit has told commuters to leave New York as early as possible. Service is suspended on the Gladstone and Montclair Boonton train lines in both directions; on the Morris & Essex line between Dover to Summit; and on the Atlantic City rail line between Philadelphia 30th St. and Atlantic City. Tickets are being cross-honored for rail, buses and private carriers. New Jersey Transit bus service is suspended on all routes.

• Long Island Rail Road: Oyster Bay, Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma, Hempstead, Babylon and Montauk branches are suspended. Customers are being advised to delay traveling.

• Metro-North Railroad is running on a reduced schedule. Sevice on the New Haven line (between between South Norwalk and New Haven) and the Harlem line is suspended. After 8 p.m., service will be hourly on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven lines.

They suspended NJT Bus service around 4:30, yikes for anyone who commutes to NYC on NJT buses and went to work today.


My L train coming home took 45 minutes to travel from Broadway Junction to Cararsie due to signal problems.

All MNRR EoH Suspended

All East of Hudson MNRR is suspended.

Some LIRR updates too. Earlier, a problem at Queens Village and a problem somewhere on the Babylon branch resulted in everything being suspended, except for Long Beach, West Hempstead, Far Rockaway, and Port Washington. They seem to have recovered from this.

Amtrak has cancelled many trains tomorrow.

Cliff's notes on cancellations:
5 Keystone Round Trips
8 NEC round trips
8 Eastbound and 7 Westbound AEs, with one Westbound AE starting in NYC instead of BOS
4 Empire Corridor round trips (ALB-NYP runs).

And how often was NY Central and New Haven commuter service suspended in the snow?
