They were repainted for a movie shoot. The film apparently takes place in the mid-1990s. They did a good job, except they forgot the blue stripe on top, and they kept the current M Metro logo on. Still, a better job than you'll see in most Hollywood productions. |

I don’t know about these cars in particular, but LA metro is actively looking to start a transit museum and preserve cars. They already set some aside iirc. Maybe these are them. I think that all the 1st generation cars are due to be retired in the next year or two. |
