They can practice fixing 36th St. When they get it right, they might be ready for Chambers (J/Z), but I doubt they will ever fix that mess!

There are drip pans all over the system.

Chambers St. is facing a renovation of Ellis Island proportions.

I think their master plan is to wall it off entirely. "This is Canal St, next stop Fulton St, stand clear!!"

Not a good idea due to the transfer to the 6.

Which can be done at Canal St.

I hope not, it's a very unique. unusual, and just plain cool immense underground station space. It unfortunately, is a nightmare of a wreck because it hasn't been taken care of.

Except when there is a GO causing the 6 to bypass Canal. BBr is better since passengers can transfer to all 3 Lex Av services there instead of having to try and make a choice between the 4 and 5 at Fulton or the 6 at Canal not to mention the longer walking distances at those stations.

At least wall off the J-1 track and the unsightly side platform. Put the wall on the eastern edge of the J-1/J-3 platform, currently in use for Jamaica bound "J/Z" trains. I'm sure that they can match the tile to the southbound side wall.

It will take a lot more than a few grout injections to fix Chambers Street!

Actually, if they're going to go that far they might as well do what they did with Fulton and Broad and restore the sJ2 tiles to their original appearance and seal up the J1 platform behind a similar wall. The unused platform can be used for either storage space or some department’s offices.
