I think the only transit system in the US that doesn't underperform is CTA.MBTA, WMATA, BART, MUNI, SEPTA (the trolleys) all have regular issues, too. |

Despite the older systems like NYCT, CTA and the Boston T having a few issues every now and again, they don’t seem the have the major infrastructure problems on the entire system that the newer systems like WMATA and the Baltimore Metro seem to have. |

MDOT MTA is a state agency, even though most of its services are in the Baltimore metro region where a locally controlled transit authority would usually provide those services. |

If there were preventative maintenance they wouldn't need to shut it down for one whole zmonth. Shutdowns like this occur because it has gone past the preventative maintenance stage. |
