R1/9 modified for LIRR usage
Posted by FormerVanWyckBlvdUser on Fri Jan 12 16:58:29 2018 In the past, an R1/9 unit was modified to work on the LIRR, probably as a work train unit to tow stuck trains. There are pics around of it (I think it was 502). Whatever happened to that unique vehicle?

According tot the pics I found at nycsubway.org, the units were renumbered from other units into the units I was tslking about. Sheesh, TUNNELRAT, don't be so picky.
