There were more stragglers with pre-1979 signs than the one with the R22 storm door, at least three. All 26/28s though, so it was always a black 5 or a red 2 (which was far less obvious).

This could be a fan trip.

The storm door is blue, the side door leafs look blue although this is a B&W photo.

The doors were painted in 1965 for the R-34 conversion.

There's a photo of a semi tractor that broadsided a standard on the Manhattan Bridge and the semi got the worst of it. Front smashed in, the whole bit. The standard? Not a scratch!

Didn't they send several R21's up to Hornell for parts for Redbird GOH in the late 1980's ?

Until Chrystie, some Bway Bkln Lcls operated to/from Canarsie in the rush hours. Even after Chrystie, some KKs operated out of Canarsie in the AM.
