I see very little difference between Cuomo's trying to shift blame to any target and similar outbursts from President Trump.Con Ed's responsibility is to deliver electrical power to the customer's premises. Con Ed has the option of what point on the customer's premises to deliver that power. This location is called the "point of entry." I had a summer job as a very junior engineer at Con Ed back in 1961. One of my tasks was to design how such power should be delivered from Con Ed's existing mains. It's the customer's responsibility to distribute the power in his premises after the point of entry. All the shots taken with Cuomo in the subway appear to be areas that would be the MTA's responsibility. The only difference since 1961 is that Con Ed purchased the IRT and BMT power generating and distribution systems. That might have changed the areas of responsibility for this customer. I believe the 25 Hz service was discontinued decades ago. Everything is now 60 Hz, so far as I know. |

There were delays in that vicinity around 2PM Thursday, allegedly due to a "sick passenger". Lots of police walking north of the southbound platform on the express tracks. Everything was on the southbound local tracks. I wonder if the sick passenger was Andy. It's wrong to tie up the system for a foto op. |

I clearly remember that any Firefighter or EMT who dared to venture into the tracks without full turnout gear and helmet, would find a Notice of Infraction (NOI) waiting for them, at a minimum, the moment they got topside.That Governor Cuomo was allowed to be in an active, energized section of the subway without any PPE at all, is both arrogant and demeaning to the professionals that work in that environment every day. |

I still don't see the big deal with safety vests other than for IDing who should and should not be on the roadbed. |

That's a given, but it's up to the roadway worker to be alert at all times for the movement of trains. PATH didn't start using safety vests until 1995 and most railroads do not require them for train crews unless they are in work trains. All the safety vests in the world won't stop a train from killing you if you, as the roadway worker to ensure your own safety. |

Seeing as how rotary converters and the like powered the subway to the previous ridership records I would not think the technology was the problem. |
