It was decommissioned well over a decade ago when the Master Tower in the Westchester Yard was created.It was just sitting empty. I was surprised they didn't do this years ago. |

Eventually all signal towers that haven't been pressed into service as either satellite towers or relay rooms will be removed. Abandoned towers in the subway can’t be easily removed since they are an integral part of the infrastructure so they can be used for other purposes. |

The PB tower is not attached to the Pelham Bay station - it is about 60 feet south of the station.The station has a crew room at the north end of the station. |
