Posted by TransitChuckG on Sun Mar 26 17:57:48 2017 Trolley and auto ImageA friend is asking me what year and model is the automobile in this photo? It looks like something out of "The Untouchables". The trolley cars is a 5200 series (5200-5334) double enders. Built by Brill in 1923. Last ones ran in West Philly on Rt. 46 in 1957. Two are preserved: 5205 at Electric City, Scranton and 5326 at PTM in Washington |

I don't know about the automobile, but the whole picture is reminiscent of the photos of the 7 line through farmland in Queens. One might be able to date the photo via the Esso ad. |
