Citymapper App: Real-time N/Q/R/W and B/D

Wow this has been an amazing app the past week: What is the exact real-time wait for the N/Q/R/W and B/D trains?

Now you know the "supplement schedule" for the R train leaving Bay Ridge (which changes every single weekend). This weekend it was Saturday :06/:18/:30/:42/:54 leaving 95th and Sunday :04/:16/:28/:40/:52 leaving 95th. Just pop in 36th/4th and you'll see real-time for the R. Subtract 13 minutes and you know know the supplement schedule for 95th, or subtract 11.5 minutes for the supplement schedule for 86th.

How long is the wait at 36th for a Bay Ridge bound R train? On Monday around 7pm you would have correctly seen the 25 minute wait, so you could have taken a bus home or gotten dinner at 36th while you waited.

At West 4th and don't know if you should take the downtown B that comes first, or wait for the D to catch the R to Bay Ridge? Now you can tell if the D is right behind the B, or if it's a long ways away. The B & D have been way off schedule the past few weeks, so the app is a lifesaver.

There are certainly glitches and trains sometimes don't show up on the app, but for the most part this app is a lifesaver!!

The app works off a data feed, supplied by the MTA. I've been working off archived data from that feed. The real time position is still very much a work in progress. There are 3 feeds available: an updated schedule; the train position and any alerts.

The train position still needs a lot of work. The archive from Feb 17th shows several instances of the same train in several positions simultaneously.
