I ask because you can otherwise just wait for the line to actually open before planning. Even the changing of signs on platforms doesn't guarantee an immanent opening date as we learned from the 7 line. |

The Crescent: Amtrak has a far better cancellation policy than most airlines 2. Southwest Airlines: even their cheapest fares can be changed to other flights with no penalty, even an hour before departure, or converted to a voucher that is good for a year. |

My next-door neighbor, who works at the MTA HQ, said, most likely, March or April of 2017. The tunnels, tracks, stations, etc will be done by the end of this year. However, the state-of-the-art signaling that the MTA insists on, will take a while longer to get set up right, without any problems. |

Why should the so called state of the art signaling for the SAS take any longer to install than what was installed on the Flushing Line west of T/Sq or any of the other recent installations since it is not going to be CBTC? |

Perhaps the state of the art signaling needs lots of jury-rigging and bailing wire to connect it to the existing, non-state of the art signaling on the rest of the line. |

If true, then that buys some time for the TA to get a couple sets of the 179s cars up and running so the fleet won't have to be stretched so thin when SAS opens. |

The A would have gone local to 168th, and the Q left on the IND and sent to 207th. I knew someone at work who lived in Inwood at the time, who also knew of the politicing around the 1&9 skip-stop pattern. |

However these communities did not complain as this was done instead of installing a third track and eliminating the S-curve, which would have required the demolition of 75 homes. |

Yes, but 14-only "B" stop along Jamaica Avenue, like 102nd, could have raised hell anyway. Sutphin and Elderts Lane were the only A&B stops. I suppose they got off at Elderts Lane and piled onto the 15. I don't remember. |
