No, but how long a train? I've seen trains to cover the West Hempstead shuttle laid up there.

Steve: Do you mean M-7 or M-7A. The M-7 are LIRR while the M-7A are MNRR.

Some of the tracks at West Side Yard might be OOS due to Hudson Yards construction... they leave trains laid up at Mets - Willis Point during the midday's now.

But Steve,
How do you know it is the SAME train?
Did you write down the car numbers?
Do they begin with 76?

Steve: I wasn't busting your chops. You did write that it was an M-7 A and not an M-7. An M-7A would on the LIRR would have been interesting indeed.

Steve-- This was indeed the PTC test train. It was operating on Port Washington the evening of Thurs 7-21-2016, and then laid up in Valley Yard again.

Tracks 3 and 4 at Mets Willets are needed for midday layups; tracks 5 and 6 are restricted to track cars only. The former Central Branch track is out of service.
Valley is good for an extended stay since the yard lead has a switch to main track on either end; all you lose by parking the train there is the ability to run track cars thru the east switch.
