The 63rd Street shuttle used them during the rebuild of that line in the late 1990s. The R has used them for a number of GOs and service disruptions since 2001. |

I have ridden an R from 36th Street in Queens that then stopped at Queensbridge, Roosevelt island, Lex/63, and 57/7th.I have my doubts about the first 2 however. I think those went via 6th Ave, not 7th. |

I think those went via 6th Ave, not 7th.No, the 63rd Street Shuttle (using yellow "S" bullets) did indeed ran from 21st Street-Queensbridge station to 57th Street/7th Avenue. I think the 63rd Street Shuttle were extended to 34th Street-Herald Square station for a time. The 63rd Street Shuttle ran mostly R-32s. This was back in 1998-99. Also during the brief April-November 1995 Manhattan Bridge closure, the Q ran from 21st Street-Queensbridge to Stillwell Avenue station via the Broadway Line. It also ran through the Montague Street Tunnel. |

Q via Broadway/63rd:63rd Shuttle to 57/7 or 34/Broadway: (My searches also reminded me that during the earlier 6th avenue Fastracks, the Q was extended to Queensbridge as well. Furthermore, while I have no memory of such, I would be rather surprised if the post 9/11 Q to Continental did not run through 63rd on occasion, as the R very frequently did so. ) |

I'm not sure when, but sometime before the Manhattan bridge side switch in 2001, there were several months where specific scheduled PM Q trains were run from 21st Queeensbridge to the 7th Ave express, switching to the local at Canal. It had to have been after 1998, and obviously not when the Shuttle was still a thing. Maybe 2000? |

I doubt that the north side of the platforms at 63/Lex were ever used in revenue service before the "temporary" wall was constructed, though. Trains from 7 Ave would have crossed over and used one of the south platforms. |

Half of the platforms were sealed off with a false wall with the F occupying the southern tracks of the station which were in revenue service. The northern tracks have yet to be used in revenue service and won't be until SAS opens. They were used as mentioned by a previous poster for layups. When 7th Avenue revenue service from 57th St. to Queens used the 63rd and Lexington Avenue station, they used a switch located west of the station to crossover to the tracks that lead from 57th St. and 6th Avenue. |
