I'm surprised the escalator was still operating.

If you follow the video, it was at first. Then probably shorted out, you'll see people ascending the escalator with the steps standing still.

Looks like the storm drains were overwhelmed for this to happen.

Now where did all that water end up on the bottom, tracks flooded out ?

Me thinks it was turned off. The induction motor that drives the escalator is halfway between the top and bottom.

There are a series of drains between the bottom of the surface entrance and the mezzanine above the station platform. Drain in escalator pit, drains in the passageway, Drain in escalator pit at the bottom of escalators at the mezzanine, Drains on the mezzanine.

Train service was not halted, trains bypassed the station during the duration of the flooding.
