Last I went to PGH the only place to buy one of their farecards was downtown at the sales office. None of the (T) stops have TVM's! That might be an easier way to increase farecard usage. |

Lines certainly shorter than at either Muni, BART, or AC Transit offices and more hours of the day. Nicer than standing in line at BART TVMs to find out they are not accepting CCs. |

You wouldn't, unless you drove to Pittsburgh in a car and you encountered one of its suburbs on the way to the downtown. But I'm guessing you can also buy the farecards from supermarkets and drugstores downtown. |

Not having in-station purchase options is horrible. When someone goes to a station to board a train only to learn they have to proceed to a local supermarket it is the kind of situation that would keep them from coming back for another ride. |

When I had to do that in Chicago for the first time it took me several stops before I found a CVS that carried day passes. A few years later the CVS closed and it took me trips to three different Walgreens! Oh yeah, that was way better than using a TVM.In that case I'm pretty sure the CTA was trying to make it hard for tourists to purchase the 2-day passes, which were a much better deal than 1-day passes. |

I, admittedly a dinosaur, believe that NO ONE in the US, individual or entity, has the right to refuse "legal tender for all debts public and private".I use the TVMs at BART stations to load ecash, the Walgreens to load monthly passes. BART, of course neither offers passes, nor vends any other agency's services from its machines. |

I have one of their stupid credit card farecards, which I think are some Progressive programme to provide low cost banking services. |
