I had a subway dream about a year ago - I'd gone back in time to the 1939 Worlds Fair, and damn if I wasn't going to take advantage of this and ride the IND World's Fair spur.I could see the station building, but every time I started walking to get nearer to it, something in the Fair would block my way, another pavillion, crowds, cyclone fence, a miscellaneous building... I woke up never having made it to the IND terminal. - well, that's dreams for ya |

The 4000s, like all other L cars, were 48 feet long and about the same width as an IRT car. They could easily have navigated through IND tunnels, although there would have been a gap to contend with at each station. |
