Report on the Construction of the Broadway Line |

Posted by Union Tpke on Thu Apr 28 17:26:22 2016 I was just spelunking on Google Books, and I found a Report from the Public Service Commission that details the construction of the BMT Broadway Line. It mentions the change of plans with the Canal Street Line and the City Hall Station, and it mentions the provision for an additional tunnel that would run to Canal Street. I haven't had too much time to go through it yet. I hope you enjoy! |

Provisions were made for the line to continue on Eastern Parkway past Buffalo Avenue according to Page 153 and a bellmouth for the Utica Avenue Line. That looks like it is basically, the same book I sometimes refer to called “New Subways for New York” which is actually a PSC report on the construction of the dual contract lines. Since the book is now out of print, it’s good to see the the report itself seems to be available. |
