From early twentieth century; rather early judging by the locos and rolling stock.

That would be a view of the south side of the station, looking north.

The pessimist in me says that this is probably a bowling alley now.

worse. the entire station was demolished to build another vertical cubicle farm. The current "station" is about as glorious as a greyhound stop in some small town and is an afterthought on the backside of the skyscraper. So what was once a station with out of the weather direct access to the L station is now a half blosk south.

The current station reminds me of other bare-bones terminals like the former Weehawken Terminal in New Jersey, for the NY Central.

Very similar butcher job was done for rail passengers at Montreal's Windsor Station. The original headhouse is being restored though.

At least they didn't keep the old name after "Terminus Windsor" became confusing; it became "Gare de Lucien L'Allier". The station platforms are not sheltered, in contrast with Windsor's Lincoln Bush shed.

No amenities there either. It would be a simpler, and likely faster routing for the Adirondack if is took the CP all the way in. It's about a 10 minute walk to Gare Central. I think it can be done all underground.
