An intersting point in this is that there are multiple “victims” of McCullom’s offenses and although other companies such as Greyhound are choosing not to seek restitution, McCullom’s attorneys could argue, and probably successfully, the the MTA would only be entitled to a portion of McCullom’s royalties based on the number of victims entitled to any compensation. The remainder of the royalties could conceivably go to McCullom and/or his heirs since the MTA is not the sole victim of McCullom’s crimes. The only way that McCullom would end up with nothing is if the other companies and agencies opted to seek restitution also. Also, any offenses that took place in jurisdictions without a “Son of Sam” law would in all likelihood not be subject to any recovery by any agency or company in NY State. |

All those times Darrius ran a train or was a C/R or drove a bus, I wonder how the affected employees felt after they found out part of their run had be filled? Did an investigation start right after that? |

When I was a trainmaster, I ran into a M/M whose identity was stolen either by Darius or a similar miscreant. Apparently it was a sort of perfect storm where the run was open and the crew office was unable to cover it so he showed up at the right place at the right time. |
