Winter Weather Advisory for D Train Customers |
|
Posted by heypaul on Sat Feb 13 06:34:20 2016 With temperatures expected to be near zero late Saturday into Sunday, customers who patronize the D train are advised to consider alternate means of travel. As D train customers are well aware, temperatures inside the R68 subway cars that ply their route are frequently 10 or 20 degrees colder than outside. If you must take the D, be advised that you will be allowed to bring tree branches and wooden skids into the train to feed the fire in the 55 gallon drums that will be set up at each car end. Do not bring any creosote laden wooden train ties into the cars as they contain a known carcinogen as well as weakening the track stability. |

Do Not Touch Metal Surfaces With Your Bare Hands...Re: Winter Weather Advisory for D Train Customers |

Posted by heypaul on Sat Feb 13 20:30:47 2016, in response to Winter Weather Advisory for D Train Customers, posted by heypaul on Sat Feb 13 06:34:20 2016. Customers who travel on the D line are advised not to touch any metal surfaces in the car interior when the temperature falls below 10 degrees. If your hand is moist, there is the possibility that it will freeze to the metal surface and you will have to be put in a hyperbaric chamber to free your hand. |
