Re: Vintage subway cars for the 2015 Christmas season

The reason they always run it on Sundays is to accommodate Jewish folk who cannot participate on Saturday. If it were a "Christmas" train they wouldn't care.

The only time they did Saturdays was the year that Christmas and New Year's fell on a Sunday.

Please tell me you're not serious. Wait, is your name Wally?

If it were a "Christmas" train they wouldn't care.
Why wouldn't they care? I thought Christians loved Jews? Or at least some do. Or many. I'm not really clear on that. But I thought the Christians need the Jews around to bring the end of times. So surely they want to keep us happy and content so we don't do anything stupid that would cause our destruction. Right?

The only time they did Saturdays was the year that Christmas and New Year's fell on a Sunday.
And that's your entire proff????

More proff than you've offered... Saturday is the busier shopping day, and the more obvious day to hold this event. The rest of your responses are non sequitur.

I'm not really sure what that means, specifically in terms of what I said, but I'm going to disagree. I think my responses were awesome.

That doesn't mean anything. I've never claimed to know the reason why they usually run the trips on Sundays vs. Saturdays.

Saturday is the busier shopping day, and the more obvious day to hold this event.
If that was the sole criteria, then yes, I would agree. But I've seen no indication that that is the sole criteria, or even the most important criteria.

It's running in December for Christmas.

We can pretend it's for other holidays but we're now in the Christmas season.

Kwanza is for #blm types before hashtags became trendy.

I don't know any Jews especially Bukharians who exchange gifts for chanukah.

None of my Jewish friends now in their forties exchange. But they did in grade school thirty years ago.

I don't think all the Iranian Jews in Great Neck or Bukharians in Rego Parkistan get into it.

Wrong. It's running in December because of the holiday season. Christmas is obviously the biggest holiday during the holiday season. That is the relationship.

Saturday is the busier shopping day, and the more obvious day to hold this event.

Sunday is the day of less frequent regular subway service, and the most obvious day to put in an extra train with a high risk of breaking down.

So if it breaks down, you'd only inconvenience slightly fewer people. I don't see that as a good reason to choose Sunday over Saturday, unless all else was equal.
