MTA Considering the Use of Anti-matter to Protect the Subway System from Future Flooding |
|
Posted by heypaul on Thu Oct 8 22:06:55 2015 MTA scientists are looking into the use of anti-water as a neutralizing agent for future flooding storms. According to classical thermodynamics, when a particle of water and anti-water collide, they disappear and a harmless poof of air results. At this point in anti-water study, the creation of a single molecule of anti-water has not occurred. This may limit the use of anti-water to counteract the onslaught of a couple of hundred million gallons of water , which occurred during Superstorm Stanley.retaw-itna |

You seem to be unaware of the existence of anti gamma globulin. While we would be creating and storing up anti-water, we would be inoculating all customers with anti gamma globulin which would counteract the deadly gamma rays and also provide protection against flesh eating bacteria. |

Particle of water? HmmmAnyway, remember that 1 gram of antimatter and 1 gram of matter coming together will produce energy equivalent to a 40 kiloton nuclear weapon (twice the energy of a Hiroshima type bomb), so an harmless "poof" of air may be considered an understatement... |

Yes, that could be a problem, which Nilet suggested might add a few months to the environmental impact statement process. |

With that much water and anti-water colliding which results into a poof of air, you're probably looking at catagory 15 winds. or an EF-40 tornado. |
