Tickets? What is this ticket you speak of? Steerage class passengers do not knead tickets.

"The Lexington tunnels would have to made a lot wider"

I hadn't thought of that problem. Perhaps it would be better to try overutilization on surface buses.

Photos such as this have been posted before. Obviously photo-shopped, so maybe good for a laugh but not real. Trains in Asia are horribly overcrowded but this is not reality. After one mile everyone outside would be dead.

I just noticed the 6 running rails. Is that to allow different gauge trains to run?

I can't speak to whether or not that particular image is photoshopped, but that practice does indeed happen.

This is Bangladesh, but I believe the same thing happens in India at times. And no, I'm not sure why it starts with a bird, the train is a few seconds in.

Nope. Because of the weight of the additional passengers, they need extra wheels and rails in order to assure a safe derailment. :)

Not into Bombay style. These trains still do average speeds of close to 22 mph in spite of the "arrangement".

I don't think that India's passenger loading protocols would work on the New York subways. They still need the 2nd Ave. line.
