Posted by Larry,RedbirdR33 on Tue Jun 30 06:54:01 2015 Tuscarora Almanac - June 30, 2007 - The Book of Last Runs (Maritime Division)The Staten Island ferryboat THE GOV.HERBERT H LEHMAN ended forty two years of service today with the 10:30 PM departure from Whitehall Street. The vessel was tied up at a shipyard on the KIll Van Kull while work was underway to convert her to a restaurant. The plans never came to fruition though and she was subsequently towed to the Steelways Shipyard in Newburgh, New York and was scrapped. Larry, RedbirdR33 |

A couple of sources verify this including the Staten Island Advance. I can say that the vessel is now completely scrapped. Her hull was still intact until 2014 but now its gone.Larry, RedbirdR33 |
