A drop in the bucket compared to what's really needed. And None of these 'new trips' will take place until December 2015,which tells us nothing will change. |

So the D train is losing one morning trip from the Bronx and one evening trip to the Bronx. Why? In the height of the rush hour, no less. |

It's fucking absurd. Concourse Line ridership rises substantially and the TA responds with a slight service CUT!As far as weekdays go, EVERY station served by the (D) saw ridership increases EXCEPT 50th St on the West End. I don't get this decision. |

The D no longer runs on the Brighton, it runs on the worst end. MTA is in Brooklyn and lower Manhattan. The Bronx? Who? :( |

By the time the uptown D gets to 47-50th during the evening rush at that time, it's so crowded that you sometimes cannot squeeze anyone else on. Not sure how they determined that there's no ridership on the D train??? Utterly bizarre. |

I'm a witness! I transfer at the Rock for Bronx-bound service at the height of the evening rush; forget the train - it's so crowded it's hard to *walk* along the platform! And MTA's decision isn't just bizarre - it's boneheaded. |

The B train probably has some capacity and maybe this is there way of trying to force people onto the B?I mean, I've heard that its very possible to ride a B from Beford Park and NOT have a D train pass it before it gets to 59th... |

I think it's more complicated than that. It depends on during which hours of the day the additional trips are and if the existing service levels can still accommodate the increases. If so, then there may have been a different hour where ridership dropped enough to have fewer trains. |

I'd like to know how MTA arrived at its figures - e.g. what time(s) they measured utilization, and from which station(s). The TA press release said that most of the increases were off-peak...however, given the crush loads I encounter on the PM rush (D) daily, I'm skeptical of their finding. |

One way to test this is to obtain MTA's utilization figures per route, along with the method(s) used to arrive at those figures. I'm sure they keep peak and off-peak utilization figures somewhere... |

Thanks. So I saw the figures from the NYCT/Bus Committee report from April...65% AM/50% PM at the "peak load point?" Most (D) trains I've been over the last several years have been packed (especially lately); as such, I find those numbers hard to believe. I wonder what station is the "peak load point" for the (D)? Definitely gonna ask 'em about this... |

The few times I've ridden the northbound PM rush hour D I noticed more passengers left the train at 59 St (presumably to transfer to other lines) than boarded it. The train was much more crowded leaving 7th Av. That's where they should do the passenger count. |
