Posted by Wayne-MrSlantR40 on Sun Mar 1 05:01:12 2015 It was 40 years ago that the London Underground suffered its worst disaster ever as a train of 1938 Tube Stock on the (then) Northern City Line ran past the platform at Moorgate station and plowed through a sand drag and buffer stop to the end of the tunnel wall at ~35MPH. A total of 43 people were killed in the disaster, with an additional 74 being injured. The consist was (S)(D) 11175-012263-10175 || 11115-12154-10115 (N)(A).wayne |
