Once the sun goes down you do take a lot of chances on the street. With the transfer at Court Square , and a couple of other moves which one can take, a transfer at that location between those two stations is not likely to happen in my view. |

A quick look at the Queens Bus Map shows that there are several bus routes that connect the various Astoria, Queens Blvd, and the #7 train line stations. It seems possible that timely travel between those train lines and neighborhoods could be accomplished by using the buses available. Just a thought. Mike |

That sounds like an error on the part of Wiki since prior to the 1940 unification of the transit system, there were no transfer privileges among or between the 3 separate subway lines save for the stations on the Flushing and Astoria Lines N/O Qnsbro Plz where the IRT and BMT shared trackage. After the 1940 unification of the system, certain transfers were established to replace the elevated lines that were demolished at the same time and which I mentioned in my post on this topic. |

There would probably be little if any need for passengers to change fro the Astoria Line to the Qns Blvd Line since passengers from the Bway Subway have direct R service to Qns Blvd except during midnight hours and passengers coming south from Astoria can continue on to Lex Av to change for N/B R service. |

IIRC, Dan Lawrence actually used to at least try to contribute to the forum by answering questions. But he was often wrong. Not always wrong, I don't think, but often. So we would point out that he was wrong, even on topics related to trolleys, for which he was supposed to be an expert. Instead of admitting his mistakes and figuring out where he went wrong and vowing to improve, it seems he decided to just become a spewer of stupid irrelevant garbs (that in and of themselves are also wrong - he just can't win). |

It's a shame because his hometown is rich in transit history and they've got the planned crosstown Red Line light rail train.
