Amtrak Fall Special Question |

Posted by kp5308 on Thu Oct 30 11:53:45 2014 Does anyone out there know the schedule for the Amtrak Fall Special for this Saturday? I'm most interested in the expected return timing at Philadelphia. I may be able to photograph it if it returns after 4 & before the light runs out. Any info would be much appreciated. |

(11/8, as well as Sunday 11/9)While I do not have a detailed schedule, the reservation system gives it a scheduled arrival of 6:00 pm. |

More precisely, last year's train started out as having Horizon equipment because of their big windows. Amfleet cars were added after the train sold out. Then the Sunday trip was added when the Saturday trip sold out again. |

Even though MARC now runs weekend service, it just a handful of trains on one line each Saturday and Sunday, I can't see why they would be unable to lease sets to AMTK if needed. |

Amtrak went through quite a bit of trouble to import the Horizon cars from Chicago last year for photography. It is also nicer to shoot out a window that is vertical, not pointed toward the sky.If they do not do it this year, it is because the NS has fucked up the Capitol Ltd (and Lake Shore) operations pretty badly all year. Amtrak has thus limited the Cap to 6 cars and 1 engine until Nov 20. |
