The MTA's current fleet of 43 schnauzers, who were specially trained to detect bedbugs, are now being taught to detect Ebola in the various excretions of sick guests on the subway. The dogs are able to spot the Ebola bacteria by either licking the skin of a suspected guest or by the direct sniffing and/or tasting of a guest's urine, mucus, feces or vomit.
