The M has been Opto on the weekends for upwards of 10 years now.

Since it only runs 4 cars units, not much of an issue. They already run to Essex that way.

Actually, there were plans to run the C OPTO with 4 cars on weekends and the G from Smith/9 St ran to Ctl OPTO on weekends till it was permanently cut back to Court Sq.

Yup. And I think the Weekender would be better serving if it showed an actual map of weekend work, not the "normal" map with flashing dots. Still have the dots, but show reality.

Ridership. It would be a disaster along CPW.

NYCT gets a lot of flack over 480' trains on the C.

The longest OPTO train allowed is 300'.

Not everything requires a trial. If ridership is recorded at levels higher than crush loading on a 4 car train, it's a no brainer that it isn't possible.

At the time it was planned, the weekend C only ran between 168 and Chambers/WTC and it was felt that transferring 4 car trains of R-44s would be able to handle the service.
