George Takei is actually a big proponent of mass transit. I learned this from the DVD commentary for "Marge vs. the Monorail." Apparently, they wanted him to be the celebrity guest on the maiden voyage of the Springfield Monorail, but because it disparaged mass transit, he refused, and Leonard Nimoy was there instead. |
