edf40wrjww2msgDetail:detailStr fiogf49gjkf0d PATH service has been suspended between Newark and Journal Square due to a track fire on the Hack Bridge crossing the Hackensack River in Kearny, Port Authority officials say.
The service was suspended at 3:30 p.m.and firefighter from Jersey City and Kearny are at the scene as are PATH personnel, Port Authority spokesman Steven Sypa said at 4:05 p.m. He said officials believe it is an electrical fire which ignited railroad ties on the bridge.
New Jersey Transit is cross-honoring tickets at 33rd Street in Manhattan, Newark Penn Station, and Hoboken Terminal, Sypa say.
It is expected that the line will reopen by 5 p.m., Sypa said.
