With the way that platform looks like it's going to just crumble, my first thought was you're standing on what would be track 2 (the platform for track 3) at the Times Square shuttle platform, looking over at track 4 and the platform for track 4. Sometimes I'm surprised the platform hasn't collapsed. |

A look at the pictures on nycsubway.org shows that, of those four stations, only 157th St. has that type of column on the platform and pillars between the two tracks, so that must be it. So when was the photo taken, and why was he third rail removed? |

It's 157th Street. Here's a view of the area from another angle. This picture was taken last Saturday night. There's about 70 feet of third rail gap (65 feet on the southbound track) at this point. The work to install the added columns between the tracks is probably the reason for the gap. I waited for a train on the platform opposite the gap, and sure enough, the car I boarded (the 8th car of the train) switched to emergency lighting during the station stop. |

Don't forget "Champ" He's the distant cousin (more ways than one) of the Loch Ness monster currently lurking in the depths of Lake Champlain in the Adirondack region of upstate NY.. I'm sure that he hangs around the upper Hudson Valley & makes it down to the NYC area from time to time. That would explain all those "whale " sightings in the NYC harbor. Champ was down for a little vacation! Waiting to see a selfie post!!:) |

Numbersix guessed the location as "76th Street," using the phrase to mean "76th Street Station" while omitting the final word for the sake of brevity.Dan Lawrence stated that such a station didn't exist, establishing that "76th Street" means the alleged 76th Street IND station in the context of this thread. With that in mind, Train Dude said he was at the station here. He implied otherwise here, but I figured I'd give him the benefit of the doubt rather than immediately link to this. |
