Metro-North (West of Hudson lines ONLY) service & service quality improvements

Metro-North Railroad ($1.0 million net annualized) -

1. Add a new midday train from Hoboken to Middletown. (3 hour gap; between 1:13pm and 4:08pm trains @ Hoboken)

2. One year pilot program to reduce daily parking fee from $2.75 to $1.25 per 16 hours and annual permit from $235 to $20 at all MNR West of Hudson stations

CUSA/Shortline (they still carry the SL logo on the buses) has been KILLING the PJL ever since the line got washed out south of Tuxedo. Business for CUSA has been so good in Orange County, they moved out of Mahwah, and opened a fancy new headquarters/garage in Chester. They actually now store all the buses at night INDOORS, and they get cleaned and maintained then. They used to have buses stashed all over Orange County, and they would never get cleaned properly - especially the toilets.

I am assuming that new run will be two forty something out of Hoboken - it will be interesting to see where it will meet that 3:15 out of Middletown...

I thought that $20 was a mistake...but its correct! I bet MN wishes it could get out of that contract with the parking company...
