It goes on and on about upgrades and enhancements, but it failed to report that as part of the conversion, the R32s will be fitted with transverse cabs. It's an end to the RFW! It's an attack on railfans! It's an attack on America! But the liberal media don't even mention it. Figures. This is all Obama's fault, you know. Transverse cabs are a liberal conspiracy to stifle innovation and suspend the fundamental human right to a railfan window except for racial minorities and women who have sex without my approval moochers who can afford to pay for cab rides with their welfare checks. |

There would be no reason to fit the R-32s with transverse cabs, even if we were to believe any part of the story at all, since due to the offset doors and lack of space for an offside window, OPTO couldn't be implemented on them anyhow and that would be the only reason to have a transverse cab. |

This article clearly failed to mention the announcement from Kawasaki and Bombardier earlier this week, where they will combine resources and take hand in rebuilding the 50 or so remaining R42 cars in experental trials, as New York City Transit examines the feasibility of subway car articulation, graffiti / scratchitti resistance, and of course the utilization of a new, sleek design involving a larger railfan windo---I mean emergency escape window that's resisant to foam---- um ....flooding...in some tunnels. |

Actually, I did hear abut the R-32s getting some minor interior modifications, but it wasn’t made clear about what they were to be or how extensive they would be. About the only thing I could see being done if at all would be a repainting into colors resembling the NTTs. |
