Plenty interesting, just not all that surprising and so not particularly worth commenting on. It kinda stood to figure SEPTA would bring in a huge amount of revenue with Merion there.I was wondering if SEPTA implemented any operating instructions around Ardmore to keep the Rt100 from disturbing the golfers. |

I had no idea that they played golf in Pennsylvania. I figured that everyone down there just drove buggies and ate pretzels. Its was nice to see pictures of the Norristown Line. It is unique and doesn't get near enough coverage as it deserves. Larry, RedbirdR33 |

I would have looked to make that temporary pedestrian bridge permanent, as it sounds like something that can make it easier for people who normally go to Merion to get there, especially using SEPTA. |

I don't think many people going to Merion take public transit outside of special events such as this one. When was the last time you saw someone with golf clubs on board mass transit while en route for a round? |

These days probably not, but a century or so ago two Chicago-area electric lines were built specifically to serve golf courses: the Midlothian & Blue Island, and the North Shore & Western.Alan Follett Hercules, CA |

My only comment is SEPTA is really National City Lines reborn. When it was created, SEPTA killed every streetcar line except the Subway-surface streetcar lines and actually planed to cut them to loops at the two portals except that got killed by the City. The City forced SEPTA to put streetcars back on 15 Gerard Avenue, so SEPTA only sent 18 cars to Brookville for rebuilding, so if more than 3 cars are unavailable, buses are put out. SEPTA really wants no surface streetcar lines and the current cars are through their 2 rebuild so heaven knows when they will be replaced. |

Service Explicitly preventing transport anywhere.Philly is in competition w/ Balto and Detroit for "no longer major league" courtesy of the de-industrialisation treason combined w/outflow to the 'burbs. Every time I ride the old PRR through Philly there are more vacant lots or abandoned factory buildings. Given the anti urban rural votes in the PA state gov't organs, there is no money for proper transit (and the unions aren't helping either). |

Except the Orioles are winners since Buck became manager after 13 years in the bottom so Baltimore is back in the major league. In Baltimore the MTA there built a "light rail" line from Cockysville to the Airport and further south of the city. SEPTA ain't doing much for rail transport. |

Baseball, yes, light rail fits and starts--I have ridden the airport line. General case the city is , I think, not doing well. We'll see if the post Panamax container work generates any significant economic boost. CSX, as usual, is too cheap to do things right and (unless they have changed the plan) going to single stack the containers to a "staging" facility near Jessup to double them up. You can just imagine the speed and efficiency that will generate. |
