Sure and your example show another failure in American railroading.4 of these cars ran on MNCR in early 80's but even as Electrics ( Gas turbines were removed at time) they sucked and were pretty much hauled as dead cars all time. |

A MU car would not be able to handle weight of 600 Hp diesel, a cooling plant and fuel supply, the Gas turbine weighs a 1/4 of diesels weight and does not need cooling plant. |

How soon we all forget the 21 First Century Doodlebugs. THE BUDD SPV  Nice color scheme.  I wonder what a T-10 is?  Run this puppy on the Jamaica Bay Flats!  This would have been nice from Speonk-Babylon-Hicksville-Jamaica-Hunters Point.  Metro North utilized them, but below their potential. The Port Jervis Branch comes to mind.  Here's a peek inside.  This consist seems to have unpowered coaches toward the read. Note doors are for high level platforms only on coaches.  Now these are for high level platforms only.  The front end is somewhat different and this one can serve high and low level platforms |
