It automatically adjusts the videos to a blurry 144p mess and still doesn't load them fast enough to watch but speedtest says my internet is fine and I'm not having problems with any other site. |

Your ISP might be using a slow Youtube caching server...Some guys over here explain it... The relevant post: I've managed to block those caches! What you need to do is use Windows Firewall (or iptables if you're linux) to block 206.111.0.0/16. As far as I can tell, this won't block any other websites hosted on XO, but YMMV. Instructions for blocking with windows firewall here. Once 206.111.0.0/16 is blocked, youtube's player logic will fall back to Google's datacenters and stream at beautiful speeds. And a user testimonial: Mother of god, I've never downloaded a YouTube video so quickly. I haven't resorted to that yet because mysteriously, shortly after someone forwarded me that link, I never had slow youtube again... |

However, be warned that TimeWarner will keep fighting you and thus you may have to wait for numerous timeouts before you're finally able to get to gooble. :("Network neutrality" ... lol. |
