It was not built by or for NYCT. It was built by St. Louis Car for Sperry concurrently with the construction of the R-33 cars. Its appearance is simply because they used a design that they were working with for the project of a different customer.ROAR |

Had it been assigned here, I am sure they could have found other places to add things without causing any clearance issues. It would look more in place here than the "Magic School Bus" that normally comes down to inspect the NYCT rails. |
