There was an accident where a train out of Flatbush Ave. terminal went through an open drawbridge and a couple of cars wound up in the bay...I wonder if this was one of them. |

I have some pictures of the aftermath...you may be right as I think it was the South Channel bridge (not the current one but the original one which connected to Hammels Wye before the tracks were elevated) that the train ran through while it was in the open position. |
