Not on my model RR. My club and a few others were invited for a picnic/run day with the Long Island Live Steamers. This is just a small glimpse of what went on there today

The main layout consists of 2 interconnected concentric loops with alternate routes. The high line is a narrower gauge elevated line that makes about a 1/4 mile loop. Rolling stock consists of live steamers (coal fired), diesels and electric locomotives. There is a transfer table for loading engines onto the system and for firing up the steamers. You should really try to attend one of their open houses this season.

It's the Baltimore Society Of Model Engineers at 221 East Saratoga Street. It has both O Gauge and HO gauge layouts and has been around since the 1930's at 6 different addresses over the years until the Saratoga address in the late 1050's.

There is a Baltimore group that is in Leaken Park in West Baltimore that is close to what you have. It's live steam and diesel.

Check out Ebay. Keep in mind that a live coal fired steamer will set you back as much as a new Prius. Of course you can't have fun with a prius.

It certainly is an expensive hobby but when you are talking about a family hobby and a hobby that brings people together, I guess its worth the $$$$.

Last time I visited Leaken Park was ironically on the day of the Amtrak Conrail Chase Maryland wreck.

Do you know what scale?

GuageScale
7-1/2"1 1/2"
4-3/4"1"
3-1/2"3/4"
