Maybe it's Atlantic Avenue - Barclay's Center entrance on the (D), (N) and (R), I was going to swipe my card through the turnstile, then a cop pointed me to a different turnstile and was like, "you can enter for free". |

I would have said the B42 at Rockaway Parkway (you don't have to go through turnstiles, even though you have to pay fare on the B42) but that's been many years.Maybe something at Broadway - Lafayette when they were building the uptown 6 connection? |

The guesses about 62nd / New Utrecht seem very possible, but if not, then could you at least say whether it can be figured out from a distance just by knowing about current service situations or if you would never know if you didn't see it for yourself? |

It sounds like something to do with a station renovation.Another thought, though. They've been playing with the locations of turnstiles at Willets Point over the years. Has there been a way, legally, onto the express platform without swiping at any point? |

We have a winner! It was only the entrance at Fulton/Nassau, which was severed from the rest of the complex. In theory, it wasn't used much, because how many people are riding the J one stop? But the savvy cheapskate could ride to broad and cross to the other side... |
