Good for them. Maybe that lowlife will see what it's like to be groped by other men bigger than him in jail. |

Good for them, but they have to be careful. Suppose it was the wrong guy or the women were lying because of some other dispute? In such an instance maybe they could be charged with a crime for assaulting and detaining an innocent person. |

Glad it worked out this way but what if the skell was carrying a knife or a gun? Things might have turned out differently for the good Samaritan. |

You're exactly right. It's chilling to think the crowd took this woman's word for it. Incidentally, this is why, when I'm standing on a crowded train, I hold the overhead railing with BOTH hands, so some emotionally disturbed woman doesn't accuse me of something crazy. Things like that DO happen. I once had a patient who was roughed up by a mob of angry onlookers for allegedly groping a woman. The kicker was, she was still on the scene when the cops arrived with us. The cop took one chef look at her, rolled his eyes, and told everyone ”Not again! She does this shot every week!” Turned out the woman was a certifiable macadamia. But an innocent man got the scare of his life! I never forgot that incident. That's when I adopted my ”hands in evidence” rule for crowded trains... |

This is very analogous to those who cheer for jailhouse justice and why that's wrong-minded as well. Imagine the prisoner who is brutalized by fellow prisoners but who, in reality, is possibly innocent. |
