An R42 can be spotted on the A anywhere, anytime.The dispatcher can't be picky. A train's a train when it comes to making scheduled service, unless his line superintendant tells him otherwise. |

Odd, a couple of days ago I saw a "not in service" set heading away from ENY, passing through Delancey. Didn't see if headed toward 6th Ave or Nassau St though. All the side signs were out-of-alignment J signs (one hinted at a brown diamond K!). |

Rather car equipment for performance/accountability reasons, wants cars maintained in their home barns. Certainly a minor problem with an R42 that can be corrected in the yard by an RCI without going into the barn would be taken care of. |

The sinister motive behind it all is this:While the cars may be used on the A line, they still belong to East NY Maintenance Shop. The scheduled maintenance (inspections) would routinely be done at the home maintenance shop. |
