When encountering a stupid cop, like the Railpace editor encountered, they make up their OWN laws on the spot. If you show them a piece of paper, they will dismiss it as "that doesn't matter anymore". Even if charges are dismissed, getting your name off a federal shitlist is another matter entirely.I am all for this, but I fail to see what good this would do when arguing with an idiot with a badge, or even an irate motorman on an R42 on the J train (there's You-Tube video of that too). |

Posted by Allan on Thu Jul 12 08:45:00 2012, in response to MTA Rules of Conduct Petition, posted by Dj Hammers on Wed Jul 11 22:16:05 2012. The WHOLE Rules of Conduct????Do you realize just how long that is? To print it even on an ad-poster size card would require them to shrink the type down so small that you would have to get close to read it. When things get that small people just pass it by. Case in point: PATH has their ROC posted on signs about 8 1/2 by 11 mounted on select station support pillars. The type is VERY small (I'd take a picture but it says that it is against their ROC) and their ROC aren't as long as the MTA's. You have to get real close. Your idea is good but the potential execution of the result (if approved) wouldn't solve anything. What is needed is the NYPD to reinforce Operations Order 14 to each and every officer. |

Posted by Broadway Lion on Thu Jul 12 11:06:59 2012, in response to Re: MTA Rules of Conduct Petition, posted by Fred G on Thu Jul 12 11:00:56 2012. This part is simple. You do it via the Transit Museum.First you become a member, then you get a sponsor and promote a photo contest, and you post the contest and its rules in all of the subway cars. This is why you need a sponsor, to buy ad space. B&H might sponsor such a contest, maybe someone else could. You want to post "permission" to photograph, you pay for your advertising. ROAR |
